Reading Update

It was quite humorous to me that I was reading this book while eating some type of cheese filled crackers on Delta Airlines, Holiday Inn breakfasts and a couple stops at Dunkin Donuts over the weekend.

At least Portland embraces a lot of the lifestyle changes the author talks about. I will definitely be hitting the farmer's markets a bit more this Spring - and asking them what type of fertilizer they are using.......off to purge the donuts out of my system.

Yeah I was eating some Cinnamon Bears and turned it over to look at the ingrediants. Corn Syrup, Corn Starch, Corn Husks...
--ok maybe I made that last one up, but damn he's right, we are addicted to the processed corn. You don't even realize how many imitation foods are being introduced every year.

There is a stereotype that keeps us that way as well. I was in Vegas with some people and ordered a salad for dinner and took a boatload of crap for it.

My first thought when Mitch says he's shopping at the farmers market is to heckle him for being too granola. It isn't manly to eat healthy. The food industry has conditioned us to think that way.
